This paper will take a look at the business continuity problem from the DBMS perspective, describing the risks that need to be mitigated as well as looking at the different technologies that are available to mitigate those risks. In particular, this paper will describe pre-SAP ASE 16 availability solutions that are still available as well as spend considerable time focusing on the new SAP ASE 16 HADR mode solution.
